Transitional Kindergarten

RUSD offers a high quality transitional kindergarten program for students who want to start school, but are not quite old enough to enroll in kindergarten. A child must reach the age of 5 on or before September 1 of the school year to be eligible for enrollment in Kindergarten.

Transitional Kindergarten is a wonderful opportunity for students to prepare for the rigorous nature of the kindergarten academic standards. Students will receive developmentally appropriate instruction using standards and curriculum that is designed to meet their needs. This additional year of school will help your child to develop socially and emotionally in order to be prepared for kindergarten.  Click here to learn more.    Haga clic aquí para saber más.

Dual Language Immersion Program

Having an in-depth knowledge of another language has been shown to contribute to cognitive benefits in creativity and metalinguistic awareness. Students who complete the Dual Language Immersion program develop an enhanced cross-cultural understanding and are more likely to stay in school and continue into postsecondary education. Mountain View Elementary is currently accepting new kindergarten and first grade students into the DLI program for the 2023-2024 school year.
